Maryland first established a pilot program for community solar in 2015, and converted to a permanent program starting in 2025. Statewide, the program is expected to grow significantly in the next few years, presenting opportunities for even more businesses, homeowners, and non-profits to reduce their electric bills with no upfront costs or on-site installations.

PEPCO customers should pursue opportunities in the near-term as space for additional development in PEPCO service territory may be limited.
